Three GONETS-M satellites, equipped with the SADKO onboard radio-engineering complex instrumentation, designed by RIPI engineers and scientists, have been orbited by the SOYUZ-2 launcher. The rocket launch took place on December 3, 2020, at 04:14 msk, from the Plesetsk launch site in the Arkhangelsk region.

Robust and reliable communications has been established with the satellites; telemetry has been received and commands have been transmitted from the Central stations of the ground-based control complex for the GONETS-D1M multifunctional system for personal satellite communications (MSPCS).

GONETS-D1M is the national satellite communications system, designed for data transmission and delivering services on a global scale.

The system is capable of transmitting coordinates of GLONASS/GPS subscribers from anywhere in the world and in the Russian Federation, provides sending and receiving text messages of any size.

JSC ISS - Reshetnev Company is the lead project contractor, responsible for building a space complex for GONETS-DM1 MSPCS; co-contractors responsible for constructing a communications complex are JSC RIPI and the JSC GONETS Satellite System, that is the State Corporation Roscosmos’ operator for communications and relaying satellite systems.

The previous launch took place on September 28, 2020.

The orbital constellation of the GONETS-D1M system is one of the most numerous satellite ones of the Russian Federation after the GLONASS system.

The GONETS-DM1 MPSCS ensures effective monitoring at low cost of subscriber services. Currently, Communications Complex Control Center, System Control Center, one of the central stations ( the JSC RIPI) are deployed in Moscow, and one other Central station is deployed in Zheleznogorsk (JSC ISS - Reshetnev Company). The regional stations are operating in the capital, Zheleznogorsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. In September 2020, four new regional stations were put into operation in such cities as Murmansk, Norilsk, Anadyr and Rostov-on-Don.
