RIPI specialists received awards from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for their praiseworthy perseverance and initiatives in carrying out pilot operation of Mobile Transmit/Receive Complex (MTRC) in the Republic of the Sakha (Yakutiya).
The order was signed by the Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, General of the Army, Yevgeny Zinichev on April 21, 2021, and awarding ceremony was held on May 21, 2021.
Head of the Department for Space Monitoring of Emergencies at the Main Office “National Crises Management Center” of the EMERCOM of Russia, Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service Roman Provotorov awarded RIPI’s specialists Yuri Kartashev, Ivan Popov, Yevgeny Kolesnikov and Roman Shevchuk with the medals of the of the EMERCOM of Russia “For cooperation between rescue services”.
Roman Provotorov, Head of the Department for Space Monitoring of Emergencies at the Main Office “National Crises Management Center” of the EMERCOM of Russia, shared his impressions:
- Due to operation of this Complex, we began to receive information 3-4 times faster, than previously, taking into account the time difference between Moscow and Yakutsk, and already by morning teleconferences we can have a full picture of real flood or forest fire situations and can provide effective assistance to population depending on the severity of the emergencies. So, the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutiya) appreciated the work being made by the RIPI’s specialists and the increased efficiency of forecasting, prevention and elimination of emergency situations.
